Summer is definitely here in Manila as we've been heating up to 34℃/93.2℉ average this April and the UV level's frequently going up the scale.
This is the usual times when most of us have our skin's go whack.
Personally, my skin is better during the summer days, breakout-wise. But I'm not exempted from all the sweat, oiliness and sun damage.
So here comes @bentoncosmetic Cacao Moist and Mild Serum, said suitable for both dry and oil-water imbalaced skin, promising to hydrate and replenish moisture.
The serum is contained with three types of Cacao ingredients
[Extract - antioxidant, moisturizing
Seed - makes skin healthy, reduces harmful oxygen in the skin
Flower - key in moisturization]
and Hyaluronic Acid [hydration superpower], way up its long list of ingredients.
And though long, all is detected to be EWG low hazard (green on CosDNA) and is also kept free from PEGs (carcinogenic), alcohol (possible irritant), fragrance and colorant like their Tea Tree water.
Basically unscented, it has a very light formula, clear in color, and comes out viscous but melts to watery upon contact with the skin, thus it absorbs quickly and is non-sticky.
Came in a lovely blush-labelled sturdy plastic, dropper bottle that matches their Cacao cream, on point with the Cacao line.
The product tends to spill if not closed properly. I've kept mine from doing so by ensuring the pipette is empty, and I don't pinch the rubber bulb while closing.
I use a dropper-full each routine, dividing it for three sections - forehead and the two cheeks, and then I spread all over.
Having sensitive and extremely oily skin that tends to get dehydrated, I felt my skin is quenched from thirst upon application.
I also kept my bottle in the fridge [but only because of the heat] so the extra coolness is a plus.
I love using it on both PM, and AM routines, as I know I'll need all the hydration and nourishment I can get both while my skin repairs at night, and while it is within air-conditioned rooms and extreme heat in the day.
It worked well with my lightweight moisturizers and sleeping masks, but tended to pill with my facial oil, so I stopped that for a while.
Within almost a month's use, my skin is less greasy in the day, holds makeup better, and glows, like radiantly glow seriously.
It is not its premise to brighten but this was the only new product I've been using so it definitely contributes to my skin being more radiant than usual since I used it.
It did say however, that the serum keeps the skin revitalized and glossy which seems synonymous with radiant and glowy, so that definitely delivered.
Cacao known to be made into our favorite chocolate is high in antioxidants that block harmful free radicals thus this is recommended for those whose skin are sensitive to harmful chemicals and external stressors.
It also protects from premature aging, thus those with dull, dehydrated and tight skin will definitely benefit.
And if you're one wants a clear tone, and needs a light, mild hydrating product then this is great for everyday use, and will be suitable whichever season you may be in.
Very excited to use this with the toner that came in the mail today!
Thank you for the continuous trust, @bentoncosmetic!
