Clean Beauty Brand ‘Benton’, introduces sugar
cane package... implementing eco-friendly activities
As environmental pollution is recognized as
a global problem, more and more companies are working to conserve resources and
protect nature. Recently, various methods for saving the environment are being
proposed, such as changing product packaging materials or downsizing packages,
and reducing the use of plastic or vinyl.
Among them, Benton, a natural skincare
brand, has changed the package of best-selling ‘Shutter Butter & Coconut
Body Lotion’ and planed to implement eco-friendly activities.
The package of ‘Shea Butter & Coconut
Body Lotion’, which was applied to the product since the 15th, is
made of 100% sugar cane paper and uses soy-based ink. It
is characterized by biodegradation under composting conditions when buried
without separate bleach or coating.
Sugar cane has a rapid growth rate compared
to trees, and has been attracting attention as a material that can be expected
to regenerate resources quickly. In particular, the sugar cane package introduced
by Benton is more meaningful as a sustainable resource in that it does not use
woods and is made of agricultural by-products that are discarded in sugar
factories.
