Methionine is one of the α-Amino Acid containing Sulfur and one of the Essential Amino Acids in humans.
It is contained in Proteins, existing as L-methionine in its natural state. In our body, it participates in Methyl transfer reaction by becoming δ-Adenosyl Methionine as a reaction with ATP.
