Benton's new PHA Peeling Toner is by far the gentlest chemical exfoliant I've tried. It doesn't sting even on small open wounds from whiteheads. However, it might sting a bit for bigger wounds. That said, this is a great one for beginners getting into chemical exfoliation or those who can't tolerate AHAs! PHA is larger in molecular size so it causes much less irritation and does not strip our skin dry! They have also added in NMF by use of Cornflower water, Chrysanthemum extract, Sodium PCA and Sodium Hyaluronate that adds in a moist glow protecting our skin barrier from the exfoliation action!
I use this every other day, basically 4x a week! Skin doesn't feel sensitized at all! I love this cuz having textured oily skin, I now have a PHA that I can regularly (part of my maintenance routine) use more frequent without damaging my skin barrier from over exfoliating! Dry skin, start 2x a week & work frequency up per your preference.
Stable mild low pH at 3.5-4 and has the usual "acid" sour smell. This isn't a miracle overnight product but rather something that I can say worked help even out my skin texture gradually over time. Consistency is key for this! My skin doesn't feel tight, stopped dry or sticky compared to other stronger acids my face is used to so I can use this either AM or PM
IG @tie_passionblog , my tip, always use this with a cotton pad as a sort of physical exfoliator! I use normal cotton pads mostly but when I want a good "peel" I use embossed cotton pads! Days when my skin feels clogged and in need of prolonged smoothing, I would actually do a quick 5-min leave on PHA mask with this using sponge cotton pads!
