PHA Peeling Toner is the second product from Benton's PHA line. It aims at smoothing and hydrating the skin through gentle exfoliation.

The toner comes in a 150 ml hygienic plastic bottle with a pump. I think the dispenser is very similar (if not identical) to the one in Aloe BHA Toner which means it's really convenient to use. As usual with the brand, the ingredients list is clean. The key ones are:

➡️ lactobionic acid (third generation PHA): melts dead skin cells, milder than AHA, isn't photosensitive.
➡️ centaurea cyanus flower water & chrysanthemum morifolium flower extract: known as natural moisturizing and soothing water. They have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory properties and help with facial blushing.
➡️ sodium PCA & sodium hyaluronate (Natural Moisturizing Factor): moisturizing and hydrating properties
➡️ ceramide NP: supports the renewal of the skin's natural protective layer and form an effective barrier against moisture loss.

There is no fragrance added but I can smell a light scent of chlorine - I know it's strange but I do smell it 🤷‍♀️ Luckily it goes away fast!

So, at first I used the toner 3 times a week but eventually ended up wiping my face every evening - it's that gentle. I like to have the cotton pad really wet so I put 4-5 pumps on it. The toner is watery and transparent and sinks in instantly.

My opinion: I like it. It's a mild toner, causes no irritation to my skin and helps with sebaceous filaments on my nose. I feel like it's really moisturizing as well. It's not a wow product, perhaps more time is needed to fully see its performance. If I were to chose one of the PHA line, I'd go for the peeling gel as it gave me more visible results.
